AI Agent

An AI agent is an AI system that can take multi-step actions on your behalf - not just answer questions but execute tasks like booking appointments, sending follow-up emails, updating records, or making API calls. Agents are the next step beyond chatbots.

The longer version

In 2026, AI agents are moving from research demos to production deployments. For SMBs, simple agents are already practical: a phone receptionist that books an appointment AND adds it to your calendar AND sends a confirmation email is technically a 3-step agent. More complex agents handle multi-turn customer service, RFP responses, or operational workflows. Agent reliability is still imperfect, so most production deployments include human approval gates.

Common questions

Are AI agents safe?

Properly scoped agents (with limited permissions and human approval gates) are safe. Unconstrained agents are not - we never deploy those.

Will agents replace employees?

For specific repetitive multi-step tasks, sometimes. For nuanced judgment work, no.

How do I get started with agents?

Start with a single-task agent (phone receptionist or review responder), see how it integrates, then expand.
